Miguel Poveda
Miguel Ángel Poveda León began singing at the age of 15 in the setting of the flamenco clubs of Catalonia. In 1993 he began his career as a professional after winning four prizes apart from the Lámpara Minera Prize at the International Festival of Cante de las Mines (Murcia).
He participated in major national and international music festivals in auditoriums such as the Odeon in Paris, Liceo de Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Carnegie Hall and Jazz Lincoln Center in New York, Wiener Koncerthaus in Vienna, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Auditorium Parco Della Musica de Roma, Lincoln Theater of Miami, Sadler’s Wells of London, Roman Theater of Mérida or the bullring of the Maestranza of Sevilla.
Since his beginning, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Enrique Morente, Carmen Linares, Paco de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, Manolo Sanlúcar, Joan Manuel Serrat, Santiago Auserón, Israel Galván, Eva Yerbabuena, Manuela Carrasco, Raphael, Isabel Pantoja and many Other musicians and performers more.
His discography has five Grammy nominations, and to date they are composed of 12 albums as well as “arteSano”, which has won the Gold Album just a week after its release. The previous album, “Coplas del querer”, was awarded several Music Awards and won the Gold and Platinum Album. His latest album “Sonetos y Poemas para la Libertad”, with music by Pedro Guerra for the most part, continues to garner good reviews from the press and the public.
